Basic rules for advertising:



1. The key to success in advertising is to get your prospects to read your message and have the message say the right thing to make them buy from you. Part of that "Buy" decision for a prospect is that he has to TRUST you. Since on the internet, websites and email are rather impersonal, that takes a while to establish your credibility. This drives home the importance of continued followup with your prospect.

2. Advertising is the basis of all sales and therefore profits


3. Headlines are vitally important. If your headline is no good, no one will read your ad. Learn about good headlines at my blog.

5. Always Spam Check your emails to make sure you have the BEST CHANCE of getting through the email spam filters.
6. Don't ever try to jam your favorite business or product down my throat right off the bat.



7. Use BENEFITS not FEATURES in your advertising. If you don't know the difference, LEARN

it.
8. Always personalize your messages by using the prospects first name. All good autoresponders do this as do many advertising sources like ListBuilders. Your response will expand by a factor of 3 or 4 (4 times the response) when you use the prospects first name in your headline and in the body of the message.
9. Most advertising does not work because the writers don't understand marketing psychology. Attraction Marketing WORKS. Read and Heed.
10. If at first you don't succeed, try, try, try, try, try again...




11. Testing ads to see what is working is the key to success

12. Use different types of advertising.
13. Keep trying new ads
14. Never stop.
15. When you get a good ad that is pulling, 'roll it out' to the maximum.
16. Never advertise your main business URL
17. ALWAYS use a lead capture form (aka "Squeeze Page") in your ads
If you don't... you will lose leads... all the time
18. ALWAYS use an 'ad tracker' to find out which ads pull good and which ones don't
If you don't, you won't know which ads work will you?
19. Followup with your prospects from 5 to 12 times at least as this is where 80% or more of all sales are made. That's right... not on the 1st exposure, not on the 2nd exposure, not on the 3rd or 4th but from the 5th to the 12th exposure. (I know... I wrote the article on this! See it right here and read it closely.
20. Followup can and should be done in as many different ways as possible. EMail, phone, mail, postcard, blog update, etc.

List Builders that I use:

1. List Joe is a great one and the first one I ever used. Still do to this day. Mail to 5,000 members every 3 days.
2. Viral URL is another that gives you a good response. Mail to 3,000 members every 3 days.
3. DownlineBuilderDirect is a new one that lets you send to 20,000 members every 3 days. It also has an auto-send feature that keeps your ad rotating to new prospects.
4. ViralAdsUnleashed gives you 3,000 members to email to every 3 days.
5. TheListAuction gives you 3,000 members to email every 3 days.




Basic Rules for Safelists:


  1. The theory on safe lists is that you look at other people's ads in exchange for them looking at yours. Similar to Traffic Exchanges, except you don't actually have to read everyone else's webpage or email. You will get the emails from SafeLists to your "Subscribe" email address. This can be a throw-away account or one you look at every couple of days. Your "List" address is your main address that you use with the SafeList administrator periodically (like for signup instructions, passwords, etc.)
  2. The benefit of Safelists is that they have tens of thousands of members so your ad has a good chance to be seen.
  3. As in Traffic Exchanges, most people on SafeLists have their own business. So, jamming YOUR business down their throat will not get you very far.
  4. Giving them access to Wealth Guide WILL get you far because everyone likes to know how to grow their business faster and stronger and have a duplicatable system for their people. That is what Wealth Guide is all about.
  5. On SafeLists, you buy guaranteed delivery ads to get your site seen. Very reasonably priced.

The big advantage is by using a tabbed browser like Firefox or IE 7.0 or higher, you can click those links, go about with what you are doing, then close them after the timer runs out and you get your credits. That way, you can go through a lot of GOT and ASO emails collecting credits. Use those free credits to send emails of your own with the GOT and ASO safelist programs. Think everyone uses this tactic?
